Welcome to Just Be Counseling Services
Our small team of therapists offers individual and group therapy both in-person in Alamance County and virtually across the state of North Carolina.
About Just Be
Do you find yourself feeling chronically exhausted, stressed and burnt out?
We live in a fast-paced culture where demanding schedules, pushing ourselves to be productive, and juggling many roles is our norm. Add on top of that feeling anxious, depressed, burdened by unresolved trauma, and grief, and it’s no wonder we feel drained and disconnected.
At Just Be, we’re here to give you space to breathe, untangle what weighs you down, and find a different way to be that feels relieving and sustainable.
You don’t have to feel stuck and alone any longer. We’re ready to meet you exactly where you are and walk along side you on your journey to where you want to be (even if you don’t know where that is yet).

Our Therapists

Annie Taylor (she/her), LCMHC, NCC
Founder | Therapist | Clinical Supervisor

I am not currently accepting new clients.
I am offering a social skills group for tweens.
I deeply trust in my clients’ innate capacity to grow, heal, and reconnect with themselves. I strive to create a therapeutic space where clients feel understood and valued. I bring a warm and caring presence to my work and approach therapy in a way that is collaborative and grounded. Playfulness and openness are also important parts of how I connect with clients and build meaningful therapeutic relationships. I am committed to creating an affirming space that celebrates clients of all identities, including those who have been historically marginalized, such as LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC individuals.
My work is grounded in Relational-Cultural Theory. I believe healing happens through an attuned and supportive relationship where both my clients and I can show up as our authentic selves. The same patterns that show up in everyday life often show up in the therapy room. This gives us the opportunity to notice, understand, and work with these patterns in our sessions in ways that extend into your “real life.” I also incorporate somatic (body-based) approaches into my work, recognizing the power of connecting with our nervous system and how it can support healing in ways that talking alone sometimes cannot.
I work with clients across the lifespan, including children (ages 3+), teens, and adults. When working with children, I use Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) techniques, recognizing that children communicate and connect through play. I partner with parents and caregivers to support their children by offering practical tools and individualized support. I recognize that no two children are the same, so I tailor my approach to each child and family.
I have in-depth experience working with trauma in its many forms. This includes supporting clients who have experienced harm or rupture in previous therapeutic relationships. I also have extensive experience supporting autistic individuals and children navigating the foster care system.
I have specialized training in the treatment of eating disorders through Ample + Rooted. This has guided my work in supporting clients in their recovery and in offering consultation to clinicians seeking to provide competent and comprehensive care for eating disorders. I am currently in year two of a three-year certification program to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and am in the final stages of training to become a clinical supervisor for new therapists.
Before co-founding Just Be Counseling Services with my wife, Emily, in 2022, I worked in hospital and community mental health settings. Outside of work, I love plants, coffee, and cozy snuggles with my dog and my Kindle.

Emily Taylor (she/her), LCMHC, NCC
Co-Founder | Therapist | Practice Manager
I approach this work with deep curiosity, warmth, and compassion. I aim to listen not only to your words, but to the deeper emotional and embodied truths that shape your experience.
I believe many symptoms and struggles are meaningful responses to pain, disconnection, trauma, and systemic stress. My role is to support a compassionate understanding of the parts of you that have adapted in response to life’s challenges, and to help you cultivate a more connected and trusting relationship within yourself.
I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS Level 1), and I integrate relational, psychodynamic, and person-centered perspectives in my work. Together, these frameworks support greater clarity, self-trust, and internal connection—often inviting more ease, steadiness, and alignment in daily life.
Above all, I trust in your capacity to heal. I offer a steady, reflective presence as you reconnect with your inner wisdom and create space for new possibilities to unfold.
I work with older teens and adults (16+) and have particular experience supporting clients navigating trauma and abuse recovery (including CPTSD and intimate partner violence), chronic illness, mood disorders, and life transitions. I also have a strong commitment to working with and affirming members of the LGBTQIA+ community and neurodivergent individuals. I approach each of these areas with care, nuance, and respect, always centering your autonomy and lived wisdom in the process.
Outside of work, you are likely to find me napping in a Eno hammock, testing a new recipe, or enjoying live music.

Casey Fowler (she/her), LCMHCA
Associate Licensed Therapist
I hope to create a space where clients feel unconditionally cared for and accepted. I believe that healing can come when people have a space in which they feel safe and attended to, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to watch this process up close.
I warmly welcome and celebrate diversity and inclusion. I am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all individuals regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or background. I believe that embracing diverse perspectives enriches our collective experience and enhances the therapeutic journey for everyone.
My clinical counseling approach is based on Person-Centered Therapy integrated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This integrative method allows me to provide a compassionate, client-focused environment while also addressing specific thought patterns and behaviors that may be impacting my client’s well-being. This blended approach allows for a flexible and tailored therapy experience, meeting each client where they are and supporting them in achieving their personal goals.
I was born in Columbia, Missouri, but moved to Burlington with my family at a young age and consider myself a “local.” I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2011. Although I always knew I wanted to be a therapist, I took a break from school to focus on family life. In May 2024, I earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I completed my practicum and internship at Just Be Counseling. I have experience working with a variety of clients in the private practice setting.
I enjoy drinking coffee, visiting farmer’s markets, and going on walks with my family. I also love weaving and watching the Great British Bake Off.

Savannah Klischer (she/they), LCSWA
Associate Licensed Therapist
The therapy I provide is grounded in the belief that healing happens in relationship and community, when we feel seen, heard, and accepted for who we are. I believe therapy can be a space where people reconnect with their voice, their values, and their capacity for change.
I am especially passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ folx, and navigating identity, belonging, and self-worth. My goal in the office is for folx to feel safe and accepted, with warmth, collaboration, and social justice.
Whether you’re exploring who you are, struggling with anxiety or self-esteem, working through family conflict, or finding your place in a world that doesn’t always feel fair or safe, I will meet you where you are and walk alongside you toward a life that feels more authentic and whole.
My clinical approach to counseling is affirming and trauma-informed. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and a strengths-based and mindfulness approach to help clients connect with what matters most to them. I also integrate feminist, abolitionist, and anti-oppressive frameworks, recognizing the ways our environments and systems shape our mental health and our stories.
I moved to the US when she was 5, and grew up in Saxapahaw, NC. I graduated with a Master’s in Social Work from UNCG and NCAT University in May 2025, and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSW-A). I have experience in community mental health and trauma-informed care, and outside the therapy room, I am deeply engaged in advocacy and policy work that centers LGBTQIA+ rights, equity, and community care.
I enjoy coffee, especially after working as a local barista for 4+ years, all things plants, and creating cozy spaces with friends and my chosen family.
